I am a big fan of sales funnels specifically Funnel X ROI which is one of the funnels I promote.
There are many types of sales funnels Many sales funnels are based on an offer, usually including a free or very reasonable opening offer and then offering upgrades on the basic program that gives you more flexibility or more features.
Read the article if you want more, I just wanted to tease you with the power of this social media platform and to get you thinking about using its unique character to promote your business and generate more leads.
Now that I have your attention lets talk about getting the all-important profile set up.
Instagram Profile Tip # 1 Make Your Profile/Bio Vertical.
I picked this out to show you how your profile should look. The biggest reason for the verticle layout is that 99% of all Instagram users access the platform from their phone.
This example is of a horizontal profile. Notices how it stretches across the page and doesn’t look as crisp and sharp as the first example.
You can only create a verticle profile by editing from your desktop or laptop computer.
Instagram Profile Tip # 2 Use Emojis
Emojis add color and style to your profile as well as help tell your story.
To add emojis to your profile when you edit right click your mouse and you will see the emoji at the top of the window. Click to bring up the emojis. Use ones that add color and help illustrate what you are all about.
Notice his use of emojis. Sun rising over a mountain, a spiritual icon, a rainbow, symbol of hope. A pen for an editor and a book for a writer and so on. You help tell your story with emojis.
Compare the profile above to this one that didn’t use emojis.
Notice how flat this is compared to the one above. There is no color to help the profile standout and no way to accent the profile.
Instagram Profile Tip # 3 Use a Domain Related to Your Profile
This is an important point. Don’t send your followers to something that doesn’t fit with your profile. If you are branding yourself as a marketer then you should send your followers to a site that is about marketing. That would be your blog or a lead capture pain where they can get an ebook on some subject to do with marketing.
If you send them instead to a site about personal health, you lose credibility and possible leads.
You should not send people to replicate websites. If you are in an MLM then don’t use your replicated site. Use a blog or create a domain around the subject of the MLM.
You want a clickable link to appear under your last line of profile which is your call to action.
Don’t try to add a link below your call to action. It will not be clickable. Instead, use the box in your profile that asks for a link. This will be clickable and the link appears as the last line under your profile.
Instagram Profile Tip #4 Always Include a Call to Action
I’m only just beginning to explore the use of Instagram to generate leads for my business. I know marketers who are generating thousands of leads a month.
The only way you can get those leads is to include a call to action. This is a next step you want your followers to take. This could be a lead magnet you are offering like an ebook which you send them free in return for their name and email address.
You can also offer a video tip, a cheatsheet about your niche, a newsletter, or an email series. No matter what it is you want them to take that next action so you can capture them for your list. You want to get them into your funnel.
Instagram is a potent social media platform for the internet marketer that wants to extend their reach and find new sources of followers and leads for their business.
Following the four basic steps outlined above will help you target the right audience, capture new followers and ultimately grow your list and your sales.
A little time to get set up correctly now will pay off as you see your following on Instagram build.
However, if you have something unique to say or a special expertise, or you’re especially good at interviewing experts, either one or both of these avenues might be right for you.
The important thing to remember is you are not competing with every single one of those blogs.
2 No Expertise? You Can be a Reporter
Many people online appreciate those who can report on what is going on in their niche. The sheer volume of content makes it impossible to be aware critical information they need to find success. Therefore, in the role of a reporter, you can create valuable content for your audience.
Google Search is your best friend in this role. Searching for articles, new, forums on the topic you report on will give you more material that you could ever use.
It’s not about copy that information, but rewriting it to suit your style, or repurposing the content. For example, you could take an article and make an infographic from the information.
This is a great way to build a large following, especially if you put your own unique slant and personality into your writing.
If you are worried about copyright issues doing this I recommend a book, How to Steal Like an Artist. It’s a short fun book to read and show why and how to steal like an artist.
3 Profitability Takes Time
If you plan to use your blog as your primary source of income then patience and persistence is a virtue.
I’d recommend you read a couple of blogs about blogging to help you understand the ins and outs of making money as a blogger.
You’ll need time to build a following and get subscribers, which is why it’s best to start blogging part-time while you do something else for income.
But if you find the right topic – and most importantly, you find your tribe – then it is possible to build up to a very decent 5 and even 6 figure income.
However, if there are other uses for a blog.
The reason I have a blog is to house my content to make distribution to my list easier and to extend my social media reach.
Either way as an internet marketer a blog is one of your best relationship building tools.
4 Find Your Voice
Finding your blogging voice will take time, practice and action. With time your own voice will begin to manifest.
So why do you need to find your voice?
You don’t want to sound like everyone else, nor do you want to appeal to every person out there.
First, when you have your own unique voice, people have a reason to like you. You’re authentic, and you have something to say. Don’t be afraid to state your opinions and back them with facts. This will cause your tribe to gravitate to you as you build more and more rapport with them.
Second, if you try to appeal to everyone, you will appeal to no one.
Choose your perfect reader and then speak to this person.
For example, if your topic is motorcycles, you wouldn’t want to appeal to everyone who has a motorcycle, doesn’t have a motorcycle, likes motorcycles and even doesn’t like motorcycles.
But if you speak to the 55-year-old dentist who rides his Harley Davidson on weekends, then you’ve narrowed your niche to professionals on Harleys. And while this excludes most everyone else, it makes those professionals on Harleys much more likely to become loyal readers and listeners.
5 Become Well Connected
As I suggested in point three reading other blogs about blogging is a good way to learn your art. You can also find other blogs in your niche to see what they write about. Commenting on articles you see and like helps build those connections. Don’t be afraid to reach out to other bloggers to ask questions.
As you become more connected your reach expands and so does your authority. You start to build that important equation of know like and trust.
Also follow bloggers on social media, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms you like to use yourself.
While people blog for a multitude of reasons for an internet marketer blogging is an essential tool that makes growing your business easier overall.
Whether you want to use your blog simple to house and share content or to build your blog into your primary business income, you will be inspired, challenged and sometimes frustrated the process but you will never be bored.
What obstacles stand in your way of starting a blog?
A type of marketing that involves the creation and sharing of online material (such as videos, blogs, and social media posts) that does not explicitly promote a brand but is intended to stimulate interest in its products or services.
There are so many strategies and tactics being thrown around that it makes it difficult to know where to focus for the best results. However, content marketing is one of the best places to start.
Content marketing helps you:
1 Attract customers who prefer to learn rather than be sold. (The majority.)
2 A way to show your expertise in your topic or subject.
3 You add value to your customer by providing information that helps them solve a problem.
4 You can use the content in many different ways to build your brand.
5. Sparks conversations with your customers or begins a word of mouth referral system.
Now that you can see the importance of content marketing let’s look the seven techniques you can use to power up your business.
1. Create valuable content
By posting good content on your blog you will get 77% more traffic and 97% more links than those businesses that do not.
Make sure that the content gives your customer or subscriber value.
Moreover, ask yourself if the content is on topic.
Don’t talk about the best coffee shops if you are focused on herbal teas.
Use lots of examples, graphics, and pictures to make your text more interesting.
Don’t be afraid to be controversial.
Ask introspective questions.
Make sure you post regularly. Create a posting schedule and stick to it.
Remember each piece of content you post to your blog, on your post cast, or video channel builds your authority, expertise, and brand.
2. Use Social Media to help you Connect with Your Audience
Facebook is one of the most powerful ways to connect with your audience. I suggest you create a Facebook page or group so that people have a place to connect with you and others in your group. By regular posting and interaction you can create strong relationships this will only strengthen your business
Statistics suggest that most people spend, on average, two hours a day on Facebook. With over a billion users this makes this platform a great place to find prospects and to engage with them.
Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram are all dynamic social media platforms where you can show off your content and attract more attention your business and brand.
A search on Google will quickly reveal many excellent E-books on how best to use each platform.
Focus on one or two platforms that most appeal to you.
Make sure you follow a posting schedule that supplements your blog.
For a great article on the best social media platforms for content marketing read:
Ninety-five percent of all purchases begin with someone searching for it on google. However, if you properly Optimise your site by adding relevant keywords, you will be found more often by Google. This creates more sales and sign-ups. This will also increase your ranking and prove your trustworthiness and drive more organic traffic to your site.
Moz.com defines a keyword this way: Keywords are ideas and topics that define what your content is about.
As a blogger, I highly recommend Yoast as your go-to plugin for SEO.
4. Launch The Awesome Power Of Social Media Advertising.
Social media ads turn viewers into paying customers. “Paid Social Ads ” promotes your content to your target audience. With Facebook ads, for instance, you can target by country, age, and interests. This makes Facebook, and other media platforms, a powerful way to reach your ideal or target customer.
These ads can be tailored to fit any budget.
You can easily scale your advertising. As revenue grows so does the budget you have available to purchase even more advertising.
My advice is to stay slow, experiment with your graphics and your message.
Then as you learn what works and you gain more confidence you can start to take bigger risks.
You don’t have to be a marketing guru to take advantage of this form of advertising to showcase your content and style.
“Lead Magnet — noun — an irresistible bribe offering a specific chunk of value to a prospect in exchange for their contact information. The goal of the Lead Magnet is to maximize the number of targeted leads you are getting for an offer.”
Premium content offers ebooks and email courses produce 3 times the same number of leads as conventional “outbound” advertising… and it costs 62% less.
You’ve already created the content.
All you need to do is transform your work into a different media to create that high-value piece of content others are willing to give away their name and email for.
6. Include a Call to Action
Like most things in life, if we want something you need to ask.
Here’s a fact: 70% of businesses do not have a call to action on their homepage.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to have an opt-in form and a direct request to fill it out.
This works best if you have a free report to offer or something of value.
The best way to create a free report or lead magnet as it’s often called is to assemble something from your content marketing.
For instance, you might have a long article about creating a lead magnet. To help you, customers,s you create a short checksheet of your most important points and give that away as a free offer in return for thier name and email address.
It’s not necessary to create new content all the time. It’s important to learn how to reuse or repurpose all that content you create.
Remember all that creative work and time spend composing your content won’t do much good if it doesn’t call to your readers to take action.
7. Use Great Visual Elements
The purpose of using visuals in your content marketing relates to our growing need to quickly grasp or assess content. You need to grab attention quickly and graphics do that before your text has a chance to put in its hooks.
Visuals also help break up blocks of text which makes the text appear less intimidating to the reader.
The use of infographics is an excellent way to enhance your content marketing using a condensed mix of visuals and graphics.
In fact turning one of your longer pieces of content into a visual graphic is a great way to repurpose your content while giving you a great lead magnet to offer to potential subscribers or customers.
Content marketing is a critical part of growing your business, creating a brand identity and showing off your expertise so your subscribers and customer come to know like and trust you by the great and valuable content you create for them.
You may try to resist the need to be a content provider. You may claim you aren’t an artist.
But it’s long been established in our new economy everyone is an artist:
Every human is an artist. The dream of your life is to make beautiful art.
Don Miguel Ruiz
Now it’s your turn to take up the mantle of the artist in you.
Get into action. (Remember: call to action.)
Go out and create a new piece of content to enhance your business and marketing now.
From reading this article what would you suspect is your biggest challenge to calling forth the artist within you?
